Women's Participating in Qatar's Labour Force Highest in the Arab World

Arab nation Qatar is a country on the rise. The thriving nation has much more to offer beyond its futuristic skyscrapers; it is also a haven for upcoming businesses. With strong economic growth and nextgen infrastructure in place, Qatar’s business world is enroute an upwards growth trajectory.
This growth is also inclusive. Not only is the country’s work force a melting pot of people from different cultures, but it also has ample representation of women. According to according to a ranking official of the Qatari Businesswomen Association (QBWA), the rate of women participating in Qatar’s labour force stands at 59 percent and is the highest in the Arab world.
The country believes in the philosophy of ‘catching them young’; Qatari universities have twice the number of women students as male students. 30 percent of the country’s decision-making roles are also held by women.

A Civil Engineering graduate and a Master’s in Construction Project Management, Billie Teshich is a managing director at OmniVision and an accomplished business & project leader with 25+ years of experience in delivering complex projects in Europe, New Zealand, and the ME markets.
Dr.Nesrin El-Khatib, CEO of Elite Medical Centeris another illustrious leader featured in the current magazine issue. She is a dynamic senior executive, consultant pediatrician, and neonatal intensivist. She has won numerous accolades for her contribution to the field of medicine. Dr.Nesrin also contributes towards the community by aspiring young women and high school students to pursue medicine and supports the most vulnerable section of society that is, animals and children.
The list also includes Einas Mohammed is the Founder & CEO of Gems & Metals Calibration Lab. Einas is a graduate from HRD Antwerp Institute in Belgium for the examination and classification of diamonds and has 18 years of experience in the jewelry trade. She also authored a book about the history of diamonds, launched on the Middle East level, and was the first Arab to do so. Bojana RadocajUbovic, Co-Partner & MD, Khiebra LLC is another celebrated name on the list. An accomplished legal professional with more than 22 years in the legal industry, BojanaRadocajUbovic has held various leadership positions, such as civil judge, risk manager, and general manager throughout her career. She is currently working as the managing director and co-partner of the Doha-based construction consultancy company Khiebra LLC.
These women are testament to the rise of women power in Qatar.
