The media and entertainment industry in Indian has been on an upward growth trajectory over the past several years. With media consumption increasing at a steady pace, India’s M&E growth has outperformed that of several developed nations.
According to reports, the industry grew by INR173 billion growing at 8.1% to reach INR2.3 trillion. Experts are pegging the industry to grow at 10.2% to reach INR2.6 trillion by 2024, and be worth INR3.1 trillion by 2026.
Although the pandemic came in and disrupted the industry’s meteoric rise, yet significant ground has been covered in the post pandemic world. Moving forward, digital media is expected to gain momentum. However, traditional media avenues such as television, print, OOH etc will continue to grow and be profitable.
