By: Rachita Sharma, Managing Editor | Tuesday, 10 December 2024
Healthcare is one of the most important sectors for any community and is a critical marker for development of a nation. The global pandemic opened our eyes to the criticality of having a robust healthcare sector. India has taken a leaf from the pandemic book and strengthened its healthcare system. Although a lot remains to be done, yet we are on the path to building robust, high-quality, affordable and accessible healthcare services for every corner of the nation.
Women have always played a crucial role in the healthcare sector. Be it playing the role of primary care-givers to the elderly & infants or taking charge of medical institutions, woman have been doing it all. A majority of India’s nursing population which is said to be the backbone of the healthcare setup are also women. Indian women are also the leading demographic when it comes to pursuing medical degrees. Women’s importance in the healthcare sector can hardly be overstated.
