Education is one of the most important tools for empowering any society. Education forms the very basis of a strong society where individuals are moulded to think better and contribute to nation building.
Apart from its macro benefits, education is also the avenue for building better lives, communities and more. With the right education, not only does one increase their chance of gainful employment, but also enhances their quality of life and social stature. Education is proportionately linked with improved health, well-being, family life etc.
Foundational education or early education is one of the most crucial junctures of an individual’s life. it is during the early years of one’s life that they develop basic skills required to live in a society and prosper. From teaching social skills, communication to forming the very basis of language, math and other key skills, early education’s importance in our lives cannot be overstated.
India has always given ample emphasis to building a strong base for early education which is to be imparted to children between the ages of 3-8. The government has recently launched forward thinking initiatives such as the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and the National ECCE Policy, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 etc. from focusing on learning, nutrition and a lot more, these initiatives are geared towards strengthening the foundation we give to our young Indians.
Beyond the government, early education is also largely impacted by the plethora of women leaders, who are committed to nurturing young minds of India. The current edition of Women Entrepreneurs Review magazine pays homage to a few such prolific women educators of India.
One such name is Stuti Mehrotra. She is the Founder and Director of Linden Montessori, a leading preschool in Bengaluru that blends authentic Montessori principles with experiential, holistic learning. A passionate educator, she are pursued B.Ed. and leadership training at IIM-Kolkata. In 2014, she founded Linden with just 15 children, growing it into an award-winning institution recognized for its innovative pedagogy and child-centric environment.
We also feature an interaction with Swathi Lakshmi. Driven by purpose and strengthened by experience, Swathi stands as a leader redefining childcare and preschool education. At the helm of Mama’s Dela as its principal, her vision is anchored in commitment to build safe, nurturing and progressive learning spaces for young India. Having a proven track record, she instils confidence, curiosity, and love for leaning.
These women educators are nurturing the future leaders of India.
