The Women Entrepreneur Magazine team interviewed Dr Twinkal and spoke to the visionary leader about her professional journey and the various facets of her achievements as a business leader.
Take us through your early educational journey and prior industry experience that you bring to the table. What motivated you to establish a cosmetic surgery and skin care center? What are your other areas of interest as an individual?
I graduated from the Bachelor of Homeopathy and Surgery program in 2006 and went on to pursue postgraduate studies (MBA in Healthcare Management). I completed a certification course in gynecology and obstetrics. I recently finished my psychology fellowship at the NHCA in Singapore. My professional career started with founding MotherHood Women's & Childcare Hospital in 2012, a gynecological hospital that primarily dealt with women's health issues, but also housed a cutting-edge IVF facility. After four years, I founded Midas Touch Cosmetic & Skin Care hospital. I am also the director for Medistar Multi Specialist Hospital, Himmat nagar, a multi-specialty hospital.
I often came across women who were concerned about their appearance, such as post-pregnancy issues, hair loss, dark circles, hormonal imbalances, wrinkles, and so on. This motivated me to launch this venture in Ahmedabad with a team of ten expert doctors where we specialize in beauty treatments like Mommy Makeover Treatment and expert procedures such as Gynec Cosmetic Surgery. We are the first in Gujarat to begin gynecological cosmetic surgery.
Apart from being a medical profession, I am also a social entrepreneur and health & social awareness speaker. I have established a foundation called Motherhood Foundation. I am a health communication expert and award jury committee member at The National Service Schemes (NSS) for Universities & Colleges in Gujarat State and also deliver teacher's training and service training programme. I have been a speaker for drug awareness at Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for over seven years and have been working for `say no to drugs' with the zonal directors of Gujarat. I am associated with Gujarat State Yug Board where I currently head the position as core committee member of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and a Committee Member of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Task Force of GCCI. I am a co-chair at YIBE and a committee member at YI (Young Indian) and head a rural project MASOOM 2021, a YI incentive 2021. I am an associated member at Sardardham - an organization working for Patidar Samaj. I am also a Director at Money Plant Finmart which is managed by our family members.
I have a political career as well. I am conducting awareness programs, being an active member in Doctor Cell Ghatlodia Vidhansabha. I am designated as an Adhyaksh of MahilaVibhag of North Gujarat region by Bhartiya Tibbat Samnay Sangh (BTSS). The core idea behind the group is boycott China and fight for Kailash Mansarovar.

What are the various roles & responsibilities that you currently shoulder at Midas Touch Cosmetic & Skin Care? What are some of the most challenging aspects of your role as the founder and MD? How do you overcome them?
I am a full-time working person. My first part of the day is dedicated to my hospitals. Being an MD, I am the stakeholder and the decision maker for the clinical and non-clinical requirements. I coordinate with the CEO, CFO, GM, and all other departments of both the hospitals for their daily strategic and expansion decisions. I also take care of my employees' needs and understand their concerns in order to make them happy and provide a positive environment in which they will want to work with the organization, collaborate with other departments, and coordinate with one another.
Team management, team building, and teamwork are some key attributes that I possess. I also enjoy sharing my views and marketing ideas with employees. As an active member of various professional organizations based in Ahmedabad, my inputs have helped the organization take key decisions for better results.
COVID-19 brought along with it several challenges, however our team of expert doctors and staff supported the community by providing medical facilities to pregnant women, especially to facilitate deliveries. As an organization we also supported our staff financially throughout the Covid-19 crisis by bearing their medical treatment costs.
As a successful business leader what would your advice be to young women and girls aspiring to become business leaders and entrepreneurs in the future?
I believe that being a successful entrepreneur necessitates basic skills such as hard work, knowledge, confidence, and self-motivation, which allow you to lead the market and channelize work with everyone. I would like to encourage young women and girls who want to pursue a career in business to not be limited by their gender. A woman has always been known as a multitasker. Always listen to your heart, know your profession, and know how to balance your personal and professional life in order to be successful. I'd like to remind them that they are the creators, directors, and designers of their own lives and should make their own choices.
