Women's Day: Industry Folk on Why Women Make Better Leaders
By: WE Staff
Leadership is often associated with strength, strategy, and decision-making, but what truly sets great leaders apart is their ability to inspire, connect, and uplift those around them. Women leaders, in particular, bring a unique set of innate qualities that make them exceptional in leadership roles. Their natural empathy, emotional intelligence, and resilience allow them to build stronger relationships, foster collaboration, and drive meaningful change.
From corporate boardrooms to grassroots movements, women have demonstrated an unparalleled ability to lead, fostering compassion, adaptability, and a long-term vision. Their inclusive approach leads to higher productivity, innovation, and stronger workplace cultures. McKinsey research shows that companies with more women in leadership positions, particularly those exceeding 30 per cent, outperform those with fewer women, showcasing improved profitability and performance. This diversity advantage is 21 per cent more likely to outperform peers. Top-performing companies also have a higher proportion of women in their leadership ranks, indicating better succession planning for future leadership roles.
Women's leadership is not about authority, but about influence, integrity, and bringing people together, shaping a more balanced, progressive, and compassionate future.
In the light of International Women’s Day 2025, here are the top Women Leaders who have shared their journey of leadership, anecdotes of effective leadership and advice for aspiring women leaders with the Women Entrepreneurs Review team.
