What inspired you to pursue a career in medicine and specialize in Obstetrics & Gynecology?
From the start, the goal was always to create an impact, not just exist within the system. The desire to help was ingrained early on. As I grew, the dynamic nature of OBGYN and IVF stood out, fields that never stagnate, always evolving and pushing boundaries. A career purely surgical or medical did not appeal to me, and I wanted variety. OBGYN offers a balance, with consultations, diagnoses, treatments, investigations, and surgeries, all in one. Some specialties lack patient connection, others are strictly procedural, and thus, OBGYN bridges both worlds seamlessly. That perfect blend of engagement and technical skill is what drew me in, and from then, I never looked back.

Tell us about First IVF & Fertility Center. What responsibilities do you take on as a Fertility (IVF) Specialist and Gynecologist at the healthcare facility?
At First IVF, my role as a Fertility (IVF) specialist goes beyond traditional gynecology. While gynecology forms the foundation, IVF demands specialized expertise, requiring an additional two-year fellowship in reproductive medicine post-OBGYN to attain the necessary qualifications. Recognized as a premier fertility clinic in Dubai Healthcare City, First IVF integrates cutting-edge advancements in IVF, ICSI, and embryology. Our in-house genetic lab revolutionizes treatment, enabling chromosome screening of embryos before implantation, drastically reducing miscarriage risks and genetic abnormalities.
Patient care remains paramount, and our philosophy, rooted in humanity first, emphasizes informed decision-making and genuine connections. The rise in infertility cases post-COVID is concerning, with many patients delaying treatment until ovarian reserves decline, complicating conception. This platform serves to educate and raise awareness about groundbreaking reproductive technologies designed to ease suffering. My approach focuses on three key principles. First is patient empathy, as many arrive emotionally drained after failed attempts and societal pressure. My priority is to rebuild their confidence and create a supportive environment. Second, informed decision-making and IVF can be overwhelming, so I ensure patients understand every step, providing clear explanations and educational materials.
Lastly, I strictly follow evidence-based medicine. Many outdated treatments persist, but I stay updated with scientific advancements, ensuring patients receive the most effective, research-backed care for optimal success.
Reflecting on your professional journey, what are some of your most significant achievements? What has been your ‘success mantra’?
Looking back, one of the most significant milestones in my career was moving to Dubai and joining Fakih IVF, an opportunity made possible by my previous achievements. Working alongside Dr Michael Fakih, a true pioneer in reproductive medicine, has been transformative, as he continuously drives innovation in the field, enhancing patient care. Another defining moment was the COVID-19 pandemic, which reshaped my perspective both professionally and personally. It reinforced the importance of humility and empathy, making me more compassionate toward my patients and strengthening my role as a mother and individual. This shift has profoundly impacted the way I connect with and support my patients.
Receiving prestigious honors such as the Indian Women in Dubai - Best Doctor Award and the UAE Masterminds Award has further validated my journey. My success mantra remains empathy, lifelong learning, and personalized, evidence-based treatment, ensuring every patient receives the highest quality care leading to the best outcomes.
