5. Arpitha Murthy
Arpitha Murthy is a wildlife photographer and conservationist whose images she finds an argument for protecting wild settings. She grew up in a very strict, traditional background and initially could not even open the door to step outside of the house, not to mention traveling into the jungle for work.
Many a time, she would be gripped by fear and tossed around self-doubt, wondering whether she really could make it in this male-dominated field. But her love for wildlife remained untarnished. Gradually, her family started giving her support, and this gave her the confidence to further carry on. Even today, some people say that she has made it because she is a woman and not because of hard work.
