What Inspired You To Plunge Into A Populous Segment Like Interior Designing? And What Were The Initial Challenges That Taught You The Basic Lessons And Helped You Achieve The Success That You Had In The Later Phase?

I was given a bare shell home by my father to live in when I broke up from my ex-husband. The person who was helping me in doing interiors left the job in between due to some personal reasons. At that point in time I had a very limited budget. I decided to finish the interior on my own. I enjoyed every bit of the process. The way my home came out was the actual motivation and deciding factor that I joined an interior school.

The initial challenges were the smallest technical details and handling of clients, which only comes by experience, and you learn by making mistakes. So far, the journey has been incredible.

In Your Journey Over The Years, Which Are The Milestones That Bestowed You With Utmost Satisfaction - Both As An Individual And A Business Owner?

Over the spread of 11 years, the milestone was to make a Sample apartment for a renowned project. This was achieved in 2019, after almost 10 years of working, I made a Sample Apartment for Mahindra Luminaire a high-rise condo in Gurgaon at Golf course extension road. It not only added a feather in our many achievements but was also a great success as a business owner, as we had more than 200 plus apartments in that condo, and we were the first hand choice for the occupants.

Are You Engaged In Any Mentorship Programs Outside Your Organization? And, How Do You Update Yourself With The Latest Trends And Technologies In The Interior Design Industry?

Yes, we work with the younger generation interns in our company. I personally look into training the girls especially, as making girl professionally capable is a subject which is very close to my heart. The new generation in return comes with new enthusiasm and ideas, which helps our company to grow further with the changing times.

What Innovations Are You Currently Working On At Your Company? Also, Brief Us About Your Company’s Future Plans.

At Life space Interior we have pledged to make green spaces, which are energy-saving, eco-friendly, yet modern and contemporary. Our future plan is to make interiors more evolving. The future of interior design will consist of a lot more technology, efficiency, and virtual reality. Smart homes are already everywhere, with Google Home and Amazon Echo empowering people to interact with their homes by voice, controlling the temperature and lighting.

Interior designing is a very hardworking profession. It looks glamorous from the outside, but in truth, it is a very responsible and niche work to do. Satnam Kaur is a professional interior designer, whose initial journey was adventurous, to say the least. She got married at the tender age of 17 when She was only a 12th pass out. After a few years, Satnam decided to pursue higher education that resulted in the completion of diploma and B.Tech in Interior designing. During the final year of her graduation, Satnam Kaur founded her own interior designing studio – Lifespaces Interior back in 2009, and since then, she has never looked back.
