Top 10 Women Leaders In Education - 2023
Empowerment of Society Roots back to Women Empowerment
As the old adage goes, give someone a fish and you feed them for a day; teach someone to fish and you feed them for a lifetime, this is how education becomes the most powerful weapon to transform the lives of individuals. Moving forward in this tech-led world, everyone can realize the cruciality of education especially women education, as they are the source of creation and bring lives into existence. Hence making them courageous, skilled and informative is a compulsion.
Educated Women: Selfsufficient or Selfish?
Fostering entrepreneurship among Indian females is the sure-shot way to enhance the country’s wealth and bring financial independence for females. Though the revolution in industries and mankind is purely evident, the gender stereotypes and social norms still expect women to look after their homes. It doesn’t matter if they are handling a huge enterprise or venturing into a startup. Juggling between home and businesses gets more challenging when they don’t get the much-needed family support. More often, a working woman is considered selfish and this systemic social bias against businesswomen is deep-rooted and exists at almost every front of society, be it family, institutions, or bureaucracy. However, we are witnessing a skinny shift to this social bias today and the societal expectation towards woman to hold on to the home and family is gradually shifting towards woman holding an occupation while taking care of both home and office. And the role of women in the society started evolving, owing to the revolutions.
Women in Education
In the 21st-century, women are equipped with a willingness to take up tasks that were considered the men’s business before and breaking gender stereotypes. Now they have equal rights and access to education. They have covered every field with immense success, whether it is sports, politics, technology or manufacturing, and most importantly education. They comprise a significant part of the teaching workforce, especially in primary education, but the numbers still fall short when it comes to position in leadership. However, there are many successful women who have made remarkable achievements in the education sector and tremendously taking the Indian education industry to the next level, which need to be appreciated and acknowledged.
