The Chief Minister of Tripura Dr. Manik Saha flagged off today the closing and award ceremony of Samriddhi Abhiyan under Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan, Agartala on Saturday.

It builds on the state’s own mission of “Lakhpati Didis” to advance women’s financial inclusion and entrepreneurship.

Chief Minister Manik, in his address at the function, has reiterated the commitment of the government for economic empowerment of women in a sustainable manner.

He noted that self-sufficient women are the backbone of the rural economy and reinforced the message of collective responsibility in making each member of a Self-Help Group (SHG) financially independent.

Samriddhi Abhiyan is designed to deepen SHG–bank linkages, open new livelihood conversations, and widen access to credit for women entrepreneurs.

Launched on August 1, 2025, it anticipated ₹110 crore in loan disbursals in the first month, and shattered expectations by sanctioning ₹198 crore during that period, which signals the level of engagement by women and the state’s institutional support.

At the state-level event, another ₹100 crore was distributed as a Community Investment Fund across Cluster-Level Federations (CLFs) for encouraging rural enterprise and local economic development.

Today, more than 4.86 lakh rural women from Tripura are covered under 54,170 SHGs, 2,479 village organizations, and 174 CLFs under TRLM.

Since 2018, members of SHGs have accessed loans amounting to ₹1,773 crore in aggregate, with a 98 percent rate of repayment, reflecting the financial prudence of its members.

Out of the 1.14 lakh "Lakhpati Didis" targeted, as many as 1, 08,281 women (95 percent) have already reached the mark, registering a strong success under the mission of TRLM.

The project, as per officials in TRLM, has transformed rural women into independent entrepreneurs who are putting their contribution to the economy of the state through industries like agriculture, animal husbandry, and handicrafts.

According to Rural Development Secretary Abhishek Singh, Samriddhi Abhiyan is also part of the expansion of already-existing initiatives aimed at helping women benefit from the state development programme.

North Tripura District was honored for its achievement as the best performing district in implementing the campaign which reached 198 percent of its targeted goal. District Magistrate Chandni Chandran, IAS, received the award from Chief Minister Dr. Manik.

The event was also attended by the CEO of TRLM and several senior officials from the Rural Development Department.
