  • RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav condemned the NDA government's treatment of the Jeevika CM scheme
  • He assured women of self-help groups jobs in the government if RJD wins the Bihar election
  • All Jeevika CM Didis would be permanent government staff

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday lashed out at the NDA government's implementation of the Jeevika CM (Community Mobilisers) scheme and presented a number of proposals for women belonging to self-help groups in case his party forms the government in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

Addressing a press conference in Patna, Tejashwi stated that all Jeevika CM Didis will be appointed permanent government employees with a salary of Rs 30,000 per month, fulfilling what he termed as an old demand.

He also suggested further steps for Jeevika Didis, such as waiving interest on outstanding loans and extending interest-free credit for the next two years. A monthly allowance of Rs 2,000 over and above and insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh.

These announcements are a part of RJD's Bihar election campaign, offering an alternative to the NDA government's Jeevika Didi scheme.

Tejashwi also promised that all contract employees in state departments would be converted into permanent government servants, citing fears of exploitation through agencies.

He spoke about issues like arbitrary dismissal, GST deductions, and restricted leave for women employees, assuring that they would be tackled if RJD comes into power.

Apart from this, he also again promised to provide a government job to each household within 20 months of state government formation. He assured that a new bill would be brought within 20 days of assuming office for this purpose.
