Tata WPL 2023: UP Warriorz clinch a three-wicket win over Gujarat Giants

The Tata WPL 2023 Gujarat Giants vs UP Warriorz: Team UP Warriorz wins by 3 wickets against Gujarat Giants in the 17th match of Tata Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023. It was a double headers day where both teams faced each other at Brabourne Stadium, CCI. Adani bought team Gujarat Giants won the toss and elected to bat first against UPW.

The players of GG made a slow start as they lost 2 wickets on 45 runs in the 6th over. Despite a slow start, power players Dayalan Hemalatha and Ashleigh Gardner gave a momentum fifty partnership. Hemalatha made her maiden fifty and reached a mark of 57 runs in the Tata WPL. She became the top performer in the first innings whereas Ashleigh Gardner made 60 off 39 deliveries.

GG made a total of 178 runs in a loss of 6 wickets, the target however seemed easy for UPW as they made 181 runs in 19.5 overs. Grace Harris achieved the title of ‘Player of the Match’ for her splendid knock down the order and made the highest 72 runs in just 41 balls giving 7 fours and 4 sixes. With this major win, UP Warriorz secured its position at the qualifying spot. They are placed at the third position in the points table with 8 points.
