Punjab Govt to recruit Women for Women's Welfare Projects

The Punjab Government has invited applications for non-government vacancies in the State Women Commission to be filled by 5 February 2024. The state government is looking for individuals, preferably women of ability, integrity, and standing who have supported the cause of women or who have sufficient knowledge and experience in law or legislation, administration of matters about women's advancement, or leadership of any trade union or voluntary organization of women for protection, uplift, and per motion of common interest of women, according to Dr. Baljit Kaur, Minister of Social Security, Women, and Child Development.
To efficiently manage women's welfare projects, the Punjab government would appoint one Senior Vice Chairperson, one Vice Chairperson, and 10 members (two SC and eight General) to the State Women Commission. By 5 February 2024, interested candidates can submit their applications and biodata to the Women and Child Development Department, Punjab, Social Security Office, SCO No: 102-103, Sector 34-A, Chandigarh. Applications submitted after the due date will not be taken into consideration.
The State Women Commission is an Indian government body established to address women's welfare, and protection against violence and discrimination, and has similar functions to the National Commission for Women (NCW).
