Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday once again said social justice is still one of the prime priorities of the NDA government and its focus on women's empowerment remains one of its essential commitments.
Through audio mode, Modi spoke to BJP women workers from a variety of districts of Bihar, from the 'Mera Booth Sabse Majboot' initiative, and asked them to work for a decisive NDA victory in upcoming elections.
He has validated Dr. Rekha Ram (Begusarai), Shalini Singh (Sandesh, Bhojpur), Neelam Chandravanshi (Aurangabad), Gunja Devi (Purnia) and Vandana Patel (Khagaria) to gather their reports on the conduct of booth level preparations for the elections.
Modi asked the women to highlight and provide information about the development works done at the ground level by the NDA government.
The Prime Minister said the government was focusing on making women’s lives easier and standing by their empowerment.
Citing recent initiatives, he mentioned free electricity up to 125 units under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s scheme, besides the planned metro rail projects in several cities of Bihar.
Exuding confidence in the strong performance of NDA, Modi said the development initiatives undertaken in the state have reached out to all sections of society, be it the poor, Dalits, Mahadalits, or backwards.
He pointed out that there is a determination among voters to ensure the NDA's victory, contrasting the present governance with the earlier period of "jungle raj."
He also said that women's progress depends on good governance and law and order, adding that Mudra Yojana, Jeevika Didi and dairy schemes have promoted self-employment and economic independence among women.
During the interaction, Modi recalled the free ration scheme initiated during the pandemic and asked the women to hold accountable those whom he described as having failed to safeguard their interests earlier.
To a participant predicting that the NDA would win 225 seats in the 2025 elections, Modi laughed and asked for feedback on the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojna, under which ₹10,000 has been transferred to 1.4 crore Jeevika Didis. Dr. Rekha, one of the participants, said women have become active supporters of the government because of the benefits of the welfare schemes launched.
Modi recalled that women did not feel safe during the "jungle raj" but now work confidently in every field, from healthcare to railways.
He made the claim that many women will not go back to that era and called opposition promises such as a one-time ₹30,000 transfer to women attempts to mislead voters.
