Pay10 Backs Women-Led MSMEs in Global Expansion
By: Women Entrepreneurs Review Team | Friday, 10 July 2026
In India, women entrepreneurship is one of the fastest-growing streams across the MSME ecosystem and Pay10 is reaffirming its commitment to empower women-led businesses from Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities to be a part of regional or global trade in a confident manner.
As India embraces digitalization, women entrepreneurs are establishing businesses in various segments ranging from textiles, handicrafts, beauty, food processing, lifestyle products, and digital services. However, access to seamless cross-border payment solutions, regulatory support and accelerated settlements are still major obstacles in the way of scaling internationally.
Women entrepreneurs are also making significant contributions to the export ecosystem of India, albeit gradually. Indian women entrepreneurs are increasingly venturing into the world of international trade and capitalizing on the digital payment system, especially Pay10's global payment solutions, to spread their wings overseas. In the era of digital commerce platforms, women entrepreneurs who are running MSMEs are now more inclined towards entering the international market due to its increasing demand in the world of niche Indian products.
The recent statistics on exports and logistics show that women entrepreneurs now account for almost 8% of India's exports and this percentage is projected to rise further as more women entrepreneurs have access to formal credit and digital infrastructure for their businesses. Women entrepreneurs have now expanded their exports to more than 40 countries worldwide. Indian women entrepreneurs are said to control almost 33% of the niche market in apparel exports to the U.S. in specific categories.
Key Highlights:
- Pay10 enables women-led MSMEs to expand into global markets with seamless cross-border payments
- Women entrepreneurs now contribute nearly 8% of India's exports, with a growing global presence
- Pay10 simplifies international payments through faster, secure, and compliant transactions
Top destination markets where women entrepreneurs are actively collecting payments internationally include, United States of America with 33% share followed by Canada with 21%.
UAE that is approximately 15% to 20% and Malaysia with just over 15% share. To meet these challenges, Pay10 is leveraging technology-based financial infrastructure to streamline cross-border payment processes for enterprises, facilitating faster, secure and compliant transactions across regional markets.
A report from Aspire for Her in 2025 revealed that almost 80% of women entrepreneurs in India experience challenges in making international payments and 60% in export laws and compliance. Fintech has been emerging to solve these problems with simplified cross-border payment infrastructure, visibility of transactions and integrated compliance systems and tools, and is particularly helpful in the presence of more women entrepreneurs.
Pay10 fintech is emerging to solve these problems with simplified cross-border payment infrastructure, improved transaction visibility, and integrated compliance capabilities that enable better compliance. The report also pointed out that the share of women-led businesses in the Indian economy is 15.4% of the total of 58.5 million businesses, despite the entrepreneurial aspirations among women.
Meanwhile, the digital entrepreneurship of Bharat women is experiencing unprecedented growth. According to data from Tide India, 96% of women entrepreneurs who are taking the plunge into digital businesses are operating from Tier 2, 3 and 4 cities, with 282% growth in the number of women-led businesses over the past year.
Commenting on the evolving landscape, Dr. Atul Mehta, CEO of Pay10 India, said: “Women entrepreneurs from smaller cities are becoming key contributors to India’s digital commerce and export growth story. However, most of them still face friction in international transactions, delayed settlements, a lack of transparency, and operational complexity. At Pay10, we are focused on enabling seamless cross-border payment experiences that empower these businesses to scale beyond local markets with greater confidence.”
The overall MSME ecosystem in India is also witnessing a surge in the participation of women. The recent government data, released in Parliament in 2025, revealed that India's women-led MSMEs reached over 2.86 crore registrations, highlighting the swift formalization of female-run businesses nationwide.
Pay10's cross-border solutions are designed to enhance the participation of women-led businesses in the high-growth corridors of trade between India and the GCC, Southeast Asia, south Asian trade routes and the new digital commerce routes. The goal of Pay10 is to help businesses from outside metro India to handle payments more easily, see transactions faster and implement compliant digital infrastructure.
Imagine a woman from Jaipur who is a textile exporter and is selling handmade products to the customers of UAE and Singapore. The need for her products kept growing around the world, but cross-border payments were a pain. Late payments, lack of real-time transaction visibility, and the intricacies of settlement procedures had a detrimental effect on cash flow and on effort to plan inventory and ensure timely order fulfillment during the busy season.
The cross-border payment experience, payment visibility, and predictable payment settlements became easier for the business, thanks to Pay10's digital payment system. The business could allocate more time to production, customer relations, and an international expansion, rather than the hunt for incoming payments via various means.
In India, finding customers abroad is not the problem for thousands of SMEs and women entrepreneurs, it is the need to access financial infrastructure that is capable of operating in the fast-moving world of commerce. That's where interoperable payment platforms, such as Pay10, can make a significant difference, enabling businesses to engage in global trade with increased confidence, efficiency, and control.
