Online Platform 'Coto' to Offers Safe Space to Women & Trans People on Social Media
By: WE Staff | Monday, 30 May 2022
In June 2022, new typical social media platform called 'coto' would be created particularly for women and transgender people to prevent trolling, rape, and death threats as a result of coming out. The Web3 platform aims to eliminate trolling and abuse from the online world. The site promises to bridge the gender barrier on social media, where men outnumber women.
'Coto,' or 'Coming Together,' is Eve’s fledgling offering, a Web3 women-only social community platform where women and transgender people may freely express themselves and gain traction for their businesses. Coto is a significant step in a country where women have frequently demonstrated for safety in public settings across the country. Hundreds of women have flocked to the streets as part of movements like 'Why Loiter' and 'Take Back The Night,' seeking safety and responsibility.
The foundation for coto is Web3, or third-generation internet, which addresses issues including algorithm manipulation, data breaches, and identity theft. According to The Logical Indian, Web2's flaws will be solved by blockchain technology, which would ensure privacy.
Women and transgender people will be permitted to post anonymously on this app, but there will be limitations throughout the registration process. The network intends to monetise and assist members in presenting their company products through online markets for women entrepreneurs.
