NSDC & AM/NS India: More than 60 per cent of the 561 trainees that have secured jobs are Women

Over 70 per cent of the trainees have achieved secured employment, the national skills development partnership between the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has said today by its initial programme for 800 aspirational young people and out of the 561 trainees 60 per cent were female.
The custom programme main aim was on teaching the participants digital and more general technology skills so they will have the necessary tools and knowledge to support their entry into the workforce in a variety of industries.
The next batch of 800 people through this training in the upcoming years, NSDC and AM/NS India hope to build on the program's success. Three new skill development facilities will need to get established in Kendrapara, Sundargarh, and Keonjhar districts of Odhisa. Apart from this, they will be also situated in Dantewada in Chattisgarh.
With India's wide population of youth, they need to be enriched with essential domain-specific skills to meet the dynamic demand of businesses, as stated by Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO of NSDC and MD of NSDC International.
The excitement about the progress that has been made since the establishment of this initiative to help young people's dreams into reality has been expressed by Keiji Kubota, Deputy Director - HR & Administration, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India).
Four skill development centers have been opened by AM/NS India collaborating with NSDC in 2022 in the states of Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Odhisa. The students were exposed to actual workplaces and has been provided a chance to use their skills in formal settings. Next, the agencies who have been appointed by the Sector Skill Council use a thorough assessment strategy, have issued certificates of training completion, and also offered job placements.
