The Maharashtra government launched the 'Majhi Ladki Behan Yojana', providing monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,500 to over one crore women aged 21 to 65 with a family income under Rs 2.5 lakh per year. The scheme aims to promote financial independence and well-being for women, including married, unmarried, divorced, and homeless women. Applications can be made through the Nari Shakti Doot mobile app or local centers.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced the scheme and mentioned that Rs 3,000 for two months will be provided to women with checked bank accounts, aiming to promote their development and education in the state.

In order to pass the eligibility criteria, women must carry permanent residency of Maharashtra and should be between 21 to 65 years of age. Married, unmarried, divorced, and homeless women can register their applications, and additionally, the applicant must have a permanent bank account, with their family income less or equal to 2.5 lakh per annum.

Additionally, the online application can be done by the government-launched mobile app, 'Nari Shakti Doot', for citizens accessible on both Android and iOS devices.

The scheme excludes women with annual income over Rs 2.50 lakh, income taxpayers, government employees, monthly benefits exceeding Rs 1500, and registered four-wheelers in the family's name.
