Lay's Farm Equal has partnered with the Department of Posts to release customized 12 ‘My Stamp’ featuring illustrations of women farmers in yellow sarees holding freshly harvested potatoes. These stamps are part of Project Farm Equal, spearheaded by PepsiCo India and USAID through the Global Development Alliance Project (GDA). It is a multifaceted program that empowers over 2,500 women farmers by addressing their unique challenges and highlighting their indomitable spirit.
Women have been instrumental in agriculture for generations, ensuring food security and nurturing crops, yet their stories and contributions are often untold. PepsiCo India and the Department of Posts released these stamps, commemorating women farmers, the heart of Indian agriculture. These stamps will be a timeless communication medium showcasing their dedication and significant role in India's agricultural landscape.
Chief Postmaster General of Delhi Circle, Ms. Manju Kumar mentions, "Postal stamps hold cultural significance and are powerful storytelling medium. Lay's and Department of Posts have released a stamp showcasing the role of women farmers in Indian agriculture, aiming to inspire collectors and encourage letter-writing."
Saumya Rathor, Category Lead - Potato Chips, PepsiCo India stated, "Lay's has launched stamps as part of Project Farm Equal, aiming to empower and educate women farmers. The initiative recognizes their contributions and places women at the forefront of the agricultural landscape, highlighting their cultural value."
