Indian Women's Labor-force Participation hikes 37% in FY23

According to the Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, women's labor force participation in India increased to 37 per cent in the fiscal year 2022-23.
The education minister told the public at the 'Rozgar Mela' that the previous year's figure was just 23 per cent. He noted that, women are more hardworking than men and that their dedication has brought a significant balanced growth in the society. There has been a rise in women's participation in the workforce in the previous years.
He also mentioned that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led governmental schemes have aided in increasing female labor force participation. In addition to this, the centre has also worked on prioritizing women in policy-making and leadership roles. The minister also emphasized the importance of reskilling and collaborating with women to assist them in adapting to changing technologies.
According to Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, the country's unemployment rate has dropped from 6 per cent in 2017-18 to 3.7 per cent in 2022-23. Later, appointment letters were distributed by the minister from various central organizations to 172 people during the event.
