Indian Women's Hockey Team for Upcoming Championship announced

Hockey India announced the 20-member Indian Women's Hockey Team on Wednesday that will compete in the prestigious Jharkhand Women's Asian Champions Trophy Ranchi 2023. The championship will be held from October 27 to November 2, 2023.
The Indian women's hockey team which clinched bronze at the 19th Asian Games will compete in the tournament alongside Japan, China, Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Deep Grace Ekka will serve as Savita's Deputy as she will lead the Indian Women's Hockey Team in the tournament.
The schedule for the event is:
India vs Thailand - 27 October 2023
India vs Malaysia - 28 October 2023
India vs China - 30 October 2023
India vs Japan - 31 October 2023
India vs Korea (final pool game) - 2 November 2023
The tournament's semi-finals and finals will take place on Saturday, 4 November 2023, and Sunday, 5 November 2023, respectively.
The goalkeepers for the Indian Women’s team will be Savita and Bichu Devi Kharibam while the defenders include Nikki Pradhan, Udita, Ishika Chaudhary, and Deep Grace Ekka.
The midfielders are Nisha, Salima Tete, Neha, Navneet Kaur, Sonika, Monika, Jyoti, and Baljeet Kaur. The forward players are Lalremsiami, Sangita Kumari, Deepika, and Vandana Katariya whereas the backup players who will accompany the squad are Sharmila Devi and Vaishnavi Vitthal Phalke.
