Smita Patil, the prominent and key leader in SSPL Group Pune, Maharashtra, has been awarded the Global Women Achiever of the Year at the Rising Bharat Conclave conducted at the House of Commons, United Kingdom Parliament on December 2, 2024. The recognition stands for her significant contribution made through the past 18 years in India for the real estate industry.
Being a major driving force for operations in SSPL Group, Smita Patil was a vital part of boosting it further, overseeing the organisation's sales, marketing, human resources, finances, and business. To date, she has successfully positioned the group as a primary real estate player in the industry while accentuating the concept of sustainable and long-term growth.
In addition to the corporate success, Patil is also the National President of the National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) MAHI. She has been a proponent of the empowerment of women in business. After receiving her award, she addressed the House of Commons, which emphasized the need for the participation of women in India's development. She expressed appreciation to the Indian government about how women are supported and highlighted how women drive economic growth for India but even more crucially its long-term social prosperity.
The UKABC and Fortygreen Media Group, in association with the Rising Bharat Conclave, brought together over 130 distinguished delegates from all around the world. Some of the delegates included representatives from 14 embassies, former Chief Ministers, ex-MEPs, and prominent business leaders from India, Poland, Turkey, and the UAE. The key speakers were Stanley Johnson, CEO of Upcycled Plastics Ltd; John Le Fondre, former Chief Minister of Jersey; Andrew Grocock, Chief of Staff to Baroness Arlene Foster; and others, and this was a significant event in the sense that it became a platform for dialogue between India and the UK.
The letter of appreciation received from 10 Downing Street, appreciating that the event has contributed significantly to strengthening UK-India relations, was one significant moment at the Conclave.
The Conclave, also designed to celebrate the ever-growing strength of the UK-India community, has speeches from Sudeep Sakalle and Dr. Madhur Temle. Sakalle encouraged attendees to share their success stories, while Dr. Temle offered a forward-looking perspective on India's role in the world stage, particularly as 2047 approaches-the centenary of independence.
The receipt of the Women Achiever of the Year award by Smita Patil is a testament to the growing influence of Indian women in leadership positions worldwide. Her unrelenting advocacy for gender equality, outstanding contributions to the real estate sector, and commitment to nation-building encourage and inspire women across the globe, giving it a push forward in the ongoing endeavor towards a more inclusive and empowered future.
