IMC Exhibition Brings 300 Women Entrepreneurs to Mumbai
By: Women Entrepreneurs Review Team | Thursday, 20 August 2026
The 39th edition of IMC Ladies’ Wing Women Entrepreneurs’ Exhibition is scheduled for August 25 and 26 in Mumbai inviting around 300 women entrepreneurs under the event titled ‘Bees and the Hive’. During the two-day event, businesses ranging from fashion, jewellery, lifestyle, wellness, food, beauty, handicrafts and sustainability will be exhibited at the Jio World Convention Centre.
With its official affiliation to the IMC Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the IMC Ladies’ Wing is an association for women in business and profession set up in Mumbai in 1966. In the course of time, the event’s focus has been on promoting economic women’s empowerment, networking and entrepreneurship.
Key Highlights:
- IMC Ladies’ Wing Women Entrepreneurs’ Exhibition invites 300 women entrepreneurs to showcase their business
- The two-day event in Mumbai highlights sustainability, innovation and collaboration
- IMC Ladies’ Wing partners with FDCI to support emerging entrepreneurs
Anita Chouhan, the President of IMC Ladies’ Wing, stated that the theme represents a potent concept in business; that the journey may start with just one bee but the hive can only be built through collaborative effort.
As pointed out by her, the event has transformed from an ordinary market place to a business ecosystem that provides an opportunity for women’s networking, mentoring, and collaborating for business growth.
As sustainability becomes an important area of concern in this year, the event is supposed to see more brands that take sustainability seriously, vegan food, and eco-print fabrics. Free stalls for NGOs and social entrepreneurs will be provided at the IMC Ladies’ Wing in order to create greater awareness about the organizations that are making a difference socially and environmentally.
‘When the IMC Ladies' Wing launched the Women Entrepreneurs' Exhibition in 1987, the vision was…to provide women with a platform to showcase their talent, provide market linkages, and become financially independent,’ Anita shared.
She continues to inform that, ‘The IMC Ladies' Wing will celebrate its Diamond Jubilee year, and estimates at least 300 entrepreneurs to participate. “Every application (for exhibiting) is reviewed by the exhibition committee, and the process considers originality, product quality, innovation, presentation, brand, as well as the founder's story and its uniqueness.’
“Alongside established women-led businesses, we actively encourage emerging entrepreneurs, allowing them to showcase their products on a prestigious platform,” Anita emphasized.
As time went on, the event became an effective business platform for women entrepreneurs to start their businesses, show their products and make connections in the market. In order to introduce new talent to the world of entrepreneurship, the IMC Ladies’ Wing is collaborating with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI).
This year's brands include, among others, Aangan from Kutch, Kadhuwa Banaras, Kapaas Kolkata, Maisan Blu, Nayaab India, Biskut, Kepps, and Mylk Chocolates. The participating organizations for this year include the All India Foundation of Deaf Women, Dakshini Prayash, Turn Around and Women’s India Trust.
The Women Entrepreneurs’ Exhibition, 1987 was a small event held within the Indian Merchants’ Chamber with only 20 to 25 women entrepreneurs exhibiting their goods.
