Haryana Women grab 8 out of 10 Medals in Senior National Women's Wrestling Championship 2024

The Senior National Women's Wrestling Championship 2024 took place in Bengaluru, India, with over 700 entries from 24 states and Union Territories. Haryana emerged as the dominant force, winning eight out of ten gold medals and 235 points. Wrestlers like Radhika (68kg), Jyoti (53kg), Meenakshi (55kg), Tapasya (57kg), Anjali (59kg), Manisha (65kg), and Priya (76kg) won gold medals in their respective weight categories. The event featured a knockout format and excellent facilities.
Tapasya, a second-year BA student from Indira Gandhi National College in Ladwa, won the gold medal in the 57-kg weight category at the Senior National Women's Wrestling Championship in Bangalore, Karnataka. This victory not only made her the national champion but also brought laurels to Haryana. Tapasya's dedication to wrestling and her rigorous training has inspired many young girls in her region to pursue their dreams. With her recent success, she is being considered for future national team selections and aims to represent India in international competitions.
Haryana's Radhika beat Delhi's Srishti for the 68kg category crown. On her win, she mentioned, "I was feeling confident before I came in for this competition, and I'm happy to walk away with the gold. The final bout was the most challenging, but the level of competition was quite high. My coach always says no matter what, you must come back with the gold."
