Harmanpreet Kaur Will Captain India in the 2023 Women's T20 World Cup

The All-India Women's Selection Committee selected India's side for the next ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2023 and the upcoming tri-series in South Africa. Harmanpreet Kaur will be the side's leader, and Smiriti Mandhan will be her deputy. "The ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2023 is set to begin on February 10, 2023, and Team India will play Pakistan in the opening match of the tournament on February 12 in Cape Town. Team India is in Group 2 with England, the West Indies, Pakistan, and Ireland. The top two teams from each group at the end of the group stage will compete in the semi-final matches. The conclusion will occur on February 26, 2023 "the BCCI stated in a statement.

An surprise addition to India's 15-person Women's T20 World Cup squad was seasoned spinner Shikha Pandey.

Shikha had her last appearance for India in October 2021 before being controversially fired from the squad. Her inclusion emphasises how shallow the fast bowling field is. The 33-year-old, who excels at swinging the ball, has appeared in 56 T20 games, 55 ODIs, and three Tests.

Jemimah Rodrigues has managed to maintain her position on the team despite her poor performance in India's 1-4 series loss to the formidable Australia.

Left-arm pacer Anjali Sarvani joined the squad after her first series against Australia. The other options for fast bowlers are Renuka Thakur and Pooja Vastrakar, albeit their ability to play for the team depends on their physical condition.

The Australia series exposed India's bowling flaws, and the group still has a lot of work to do before the ICC championship. The team also boasts spinners Deepti Sharma and Devika Vaidya in addition to all-rounders Radha Yadav and Rajeshwari Gayakwad.

Shafali Verma and Richa Ghosh have already arrived in South Africa with the U-19 team.

Prior to the T20 World Cup, Team India will engage in a tri-series tournament starting on January 19, 2023.

India will be represented by the following athletes at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in 2023: Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Yastika Bhatia, Richa Ghosh, Jemimah Rodrigues, Harleen Deol, Deepti Sharma, Devika Vaidya, Radha Yadav, Renuka Thakur, Anjali Sarvani, and Pooja Vastrakar are just a few of the actors who share this list.

The backups are Sneh Rana, Meghna Singh, and Sabbhineni Meghana.

The team's participation of Pooja Vastrakar is dependent upon her physical condition.

In the tri-series, India will be represented by the players listed below: The captain is Harmanpreet Kaur, the deputy captain is Smriti Mandhana, the wicketkeeper is Yastika Bhatia, and the other players are Jemimah Rodrigues, Harleen Deol, Deepti Sharma, Devika Vaidya, Radha Yadav, Renuka Thakur, Meghna Singh, Anjali Sarvani, Shushma Verma (wk), Amanjot Kaur.
