Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced a reward of ₹1.5 crore for right-handed opener Pratika Rawal, who was part of the Indian squad that won the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup.
The Delhi and District Cricket Association, too, has announced an additional ₹50 lakh for Pratika in recognition of her role in India’s World Cup victory.
Pratika was felicitated by the Delhi Chief Minister on Sunday in the presence of her father Pradeep Rawal, Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood and DDCA President Rohan Jaitley.
Pratika had represented Delhi in age-group and senior domestic tournaments before moving to the Railways team last season.
The Chief Minister praised Pratika for her outstanding performance in the tournament, and said that the Government of Delhi would provide Pratik with a cash award of ₹1.5 crore.
She also stated that Pratika represents the hope and promise of young Delhi athletes, and she wished her success in her future sports endeavors.
Pratika unfortunately was unable to play in the final stages of the World Cup due to an ankle injury she suffered during India's last group match against Bangladesh, which took place at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
Despite her injury, she was able to celebrate with her team when they won the title and was later recognized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu.
