  • Ekincare reports disparity in Mental Health Consultations within Corporate Women
  • Women comprise only a Quarter of the Workforce in corporations
  • Over 50% of Mental Health Consultations are acquired by Women in Corporate

According to the Wellbeing Index at India Inc report by ekincare, an AI-powered digital health platform, reveals a significant disparity in mental health consultations within corporate India, with women accounting for over 50 per cent of mental health consultations. This usage rate (11.88%) is nearly three times higher than men (4.24%). The report, based on insights from 45,000 employees across 90+ companies and 15+ sectors, also highlights a generational shift, with Gen Z employees (aged 19-30) showing the highest engagement, indicating a growing openness towards mental health support.

Out of 2,095 mental health cases, over half were linked to personal or emotional stress, emphasizing the need for holistic mental wellness approaches. Healthcare and pharma sectors showed the highest engagement due to increased awareness and stress levels, while employees aged 46 and above had the lowest usage rate (1.62%), suggesting lingering stigma or insufficient outreach.

Noel Coutinho, Co-founder and Chief Business Officer, ekincare, noted, "Mental health is no longer a peripheral conversation; it has become central to how organizations build trust, foster engagement, and sustain performance." He added, "While access to support services has certainly improved, their true impact depends on something deeper: organisational culture, leadership behavior, and the ability to create psychological safe environments."

Companies must normalize mental health resources and create an environment for open conversations, reducing stigma and involving employees of all age groups, requiring top management commitment and tailored strategies.
