CM Naveen Patnaik-led BJD allocates 33% Party Tickets for Female Candidates

Looking forward to the victory of female candidates during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has again allocated six tickets to female candidates in 21 of the Lok Sabha seats in the current election cycle of 2024. In the 2019 elections, BJD has provided one-third of its Lok Sabha tickets to women, achieving victories in five out of seven seats in the 2019 elections, with only Koraput and Sundargarh remaining uncontested.
Chief Minister Odisha, Naveen Patnaik mentioned that Lekhashree Samanatsinghar, who left the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a few days back is running for the Balasore Lok Sabha seat in the current election cycle. The six female candidates for the upcoming elections have been selected from Bargarh, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Koraput, and Aska. Five candidates who were formerly affiliated with the Congress or the BJP have been associated with the BJD party now.
Parineeta Mishra (Bargarh), Bhrugu Buxipatra (Berhampur), Lekhashree Samantsinghar (Balasore), Anshuman Mohanty (Kendrapara), and Surendra Singh Bhoi (Bolangir) are all the candidates who switched to the party.
The BJD's commitment to women's welfare, led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, has been evident in its impressive track record of gender representation in recent elections.
