Amrita Tripathi's stunning victory at this pageant will live in infamy. Amrita's inherent charisma and dignified demeanour during the competition left a lasting impression.
Amrita was seen in the National Costume Round donning a stunning white outfit that stood for harmony, peace in the world, and women's empowerment. Her outfit was exquisitely constructed to look like a bird. The words “Give me wings, let me fly…..Believe in me, let me touch the sky" were written on the costume's elaborately detailed wings. Amrita wanted to use a global platform to deliver a crucial message, and her outfit was an embodiment of her ideas.
Talking about her win, Amrita says, “I feel humbled to be bestowed upon with the title of Mrs Universe Joy. The title has certain positive energy associated with it and that makes me even happier. Maa Durga is my inspiration and I constantly had her in my thoughts during the competition. With this title, I also feel I have been given a big responsibility to carry upon my shoulders. I want to work diligently towards ensuring that more and more women get empowered and have the means to fulfil their dreams without any obstruction or fear.”
Amrita has received praise for her representation of India on a global stage, among other things. She began her journey in the Mrs. Universe Contest by donning a delicately woven saree made by regional weavers in Bhopal Kaarigari & Piharwa. She wore a traditional jacket during one of the rounds; this stunning dress, which featured a national emblem on it, was made by none other than Mrs. Sayali by Kaarigari. She made a concerted effort to put India and Madhya Pradesh in the spotlight at every turn throughout the competition.
Elaborating further on her memorable journey during the contest, she says, “I had not imagined my Mrs Universe journey to be so beautiful. I got to learn a lot of things and experienced significant growth in me as a person. A bunch of incredible women, from different parts of the world, had come to South Korea to participate in the pageant. By talking to and spending time with each other, we learnt about the cultures and traditions of our countries. I told everyone how girls and women are treated as Devis or Goddesses in India. I invited each of them to come to India and experience its beauty and divinity. I got a standing ovation during one of the rounds when I shared this. That shall remain my most special memory from the contest.”
Amrita has experience competing in beauty pageants. She obtained the title of Mrs. India in 2021. Her visit to the War Memorial with the other competitors during the South Korea trip is one of her most treasured memories. She cried when she saw the Indian flag at the memorial and all the tributes paid to the 670 Indian doctors who were sent to South Korea to treat injured soldiers during the 1950s Korean War.
Amrita intends to launch projects in the near future to support a number of women in the nation who have aspirations but are unsure of the best course to take. She has been actively tackling a number of social issues and plans to travel the nation to hear about the problems that real women are facing.
