AFC announces an enhanced Women's Club Championship Pilot

As teams from the East and West regions get ready to vie for the title, a record six clubs from as many Member Associations (MAs) will compete in another entertaining AFC Women's Club Championship - Pilot Tournament campaign.

For the first time, the expanded competition will be split into two regions, with the East beginning play on August 15, 2022, and the West following five days later. On October 22, 2022, the two champions will face off in a Final in conjunction with the AFC CupTM 2022 Final.

The local team College of Asian Scholars, ISPE WFC from Myanmar, and Taichung Blue Whale from Chinese Taipei will all compete in the East region at Chonburi in Thailand. On Monday at 7 o'clock local time, ISPE WFC and Taichung Blue Whale will square off at the Chonburi Stadium to begin the championship.

On August 18, a match between the College of Asian Scholars and ISPE WFC will take place, and three days later, the College of Asian Scholars and Taichung Blue Whale FC will play their final game. The Western portion of the competition will take place in the Markaziy Stadium in Qarshi, Uzbekistan.

Following Jordan's Orthodox FC's withdrawal from the AFC Women's Club Championship on August 5, the local team Sogdiana-W, Sree Gokulam Kerala FC of India, and Bam Khatoon of the Islamic Republic of Iran are the teams competing in the West division.

On August 20, an exciting match between Sogdiana-W and Bam Khatoon FC will be played, and three days later, Sogdiana-W and Sree Gokulam Kerala will square off. On August 26, Bam Khatoon FC and Sree Gokulam Kerala will face off in the region's final game.
