Aditi Ashok & Diksha Dagar to Lead Indian Field in Hero Women's Indian Open Golf Tournament

The 14th edition of the Hero Women's Indian Open golf tournament, which will take place after a two-year hiatus owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, will feature a strong Indian field led by Olympian Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar.
Aditi is the only Women's Indian Open champion from India, and she afterwards switched to the LPGA. She placed fourth at the Tokyo Olympics, almost missing out on a medal.
Aditi, Diksha, Tvesa Malik, Amandeep Drall, Vani Kapoor, Ridhima Dilawari, Gaurika Bishnoi, and Neha Tripathi are just a few of the other Indian performers on the lineup.
At least five previous champions, including the current champion Christine Wolf, the 2018 champion Becky Morgan, Camisole Chevalier, Aditi, and Caroline Hedwall, have already indicated that they will compete.
The $4,000,000 competition, which will take place at Gurgaon's DLF Golf and Country Club from October 20 to 23, will also include four-time Ladies European Tour champion Linn Grant.
Pranab Urs, Hitachi Bakshi, Jahnavi Bakshi, Seher Atwal, and Sneha Singh—regulars on the home circuit—will also have the opportunity to mingle with the industry's elite.
The number of golfers this year has been reduced to 114 due to the daylight issue.
During the event's opening here, Champika Sayal, secretary general of the Women's Golf Association of India (WGAI), remarked, "We would like to have a much bigger field but we had to shorten the field due to limited number of day light hours in the month of October."
"We don't want to face the same problems which we faced last time. We don't want to drag a round to the next day."
