Union Budget 2026: Women Leaders Share Sectoral Expectations
By: WE staff
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present the Union Budget 2026–27 on Sunday, February 1, marking her ninth consecutive budget and a critical moment in India’s economic transition. Budget 2026 is expected to prioritise long-term stability while strengthening the foundations of the government’s Viksit Bharat vision. With the new Income Tax Act, 2025, scheduled to take effect from April 2026, the focus is likely to be on clarity, simplification, and smoother compliance rather than sweeping tax changes.
The budget is anticipated to reinforce growth drivers such as infrastructure, manufacturing, MSMEs, and emerging technologies, including AI and green energy, while balancing fiscal discipline with welfare and job creation. Agriculture, healthcare, education, and financial inclusion are also expected to receive renewed attention. Overall, Budget 2026 is widely seen as a bridge between reform and execution aimed at boosting investment, easing business frictions, and future-proofing India’s economy for sustained growth of 7–7.5 percent.
Let’s hear from diverse women leaders and they share their expectations from the upcoming Union Budget 2026.
