8. Priya Saraiya
Priya Saraiya began her artistic journey performing across the world with Kalyanji–Anandji’s troupe, being trained in Hindustani classical and Western music from a very early age. She came in from a singer to lyricist, bringing in a modern poetic voice to Bollywood with songs like "Piya O Re Piya," "Jeena Jeena," "Hoor," and "Sun Saathiya."
Her lyrics are supposed to touch hearts with contemporary appeal and are simple but evocative of subtle emotions. She is one of the few women in India who excel both as a singer and a songwriter, and hence has become a strong voice in India’s evolving music scene.
