Leena Tewari
Leena Tewari, the chairperson of USV Private Limited, a Mumbai-based multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company, was inherited from her grandfather Vithal Balkrishna Gandhi in 1961. Having a net worth of $3.2 billion, she is among the richest Indians and is often featured on the list published by Forbes magazine. Under her competent direction, USV Pharma has expanded its business into many areas, such as injectables, biosimilar medications, diabetes and cardiovascular medications, and active pharmaceutical ingredients. She also supports the Dr. Sushila Gandhi Centre for Underprivileged Women, where girls receive academic mentoring through dance, computers, and academic education. She is also interested in humanitarian work. After donating Rs. 34 crores, she was ranked #23 in the Hurun India Philanthropy List 2019 and #3 in the list of Women Philanthropists of 2019.
