Captain: Laura Wolvaardt
Laura Wolvaardt, the captain of the South African women's cricket team has a technically correct and reliable batting approach.
Laura's stroke play is classy as a top order batter with excellent ability to forge partnerships within her team which contributes positively to the batting unit. Laura also has a reputation for being calm under pressure, and has played several significant innings across all formats either bringing South Africa to a competitive total or chasing down tough scores.
As a leader, Laura leads with tenacity and tact, with the intention of developing a nice balance of aggression and patience when batting.
With Laura as captain, the South African women's cricket team is improving its place in world women's cricket and Laura is making an enormous contribution to the team through her on-field leadership and consistent batting performances.
