The New Focus on Human Capital

In this new world of fierce competition, where companies are looking for skilled workers and a huge section of well educated youngsters is struggling to find their way to fortune 500, it is very important to save employees from burnouts and deliver them a coordinated, connected, and positive experience. According to Deloitte’s Global Human Capital Trends 2016 report, 92 percent of participants saw a need to redesign their organization to improve employee engagement and retention and build a meaningful culture. According to the same survey found that 82 percent of respondents see culture as a competitive advantage, driving innovation, customer service, and employee behavior. A Chief People Officer or Chief Human Resources Officer organises all cultural events and activities and are part of companies senior decision making team.

Companies with right talent can grow faster and efficiently and enjoys higher levels of success. Hiring right people is only half done; retaining them is the second half and very much important task. With people trying to manage worklife balance more efficiently, giving them opportunities to a relaxed and stellar employee experience. Core competencies of a CPO include ability to be business acumen, organizational leader, culture Influencer, talent Architect, Data/Technology Advisor, Emotionally Intelligent and Authentic. CEO and CPO of an organisation should have a relationship based on trust, honesty and constant communication.

The CPO role is gender-inclusive defined by skills and knowledge in people management, hence there are many Women Chief People Officers contributing to driving major companies further deploying benefitting people management functions in diverse companies.
