Panjab University: 140+ Years of Pursuing Excellence in Teaching & Research

Education has always held a space of high reverence in India. The country also has a rich heritage of world-renowned educational institutions that have been churning out talented students for years on end.
Established in 1882, one of the oldest universities of modern India is the Panjab University (PU). For over 141 years, PU has been dedicated to pursuing excellence in teaching and research in science and technology, humanities, social sciences, performing arts and sports.
Although the university was established in Lahore, PU’s presence in independent India stands in its Chandigarh campus and nearly 202 affiliated colleges in Punjab state and Chandigarh U.T.
By virtue of its history, experience, achievements and philosophy, PU has a national character and it enjoys an international stature drawing both faculty and students from all over the country and different parts of the globe.
