Supportive Ecosystem, Funding & Other Changes Women Founders are Asking for this Women's Entrepreneurship Day

Entrepreneurship is a dream for many, but few possess the necessary skills and gumption to make it a reality. What inspired you to pursue your entrepreneurial dream?

You know, the idea of creating something valuable, something that could be sold at a premium down the line, was just too enticing to ignore! In regular life, most people earn a salary, save, and hope for the best. But the moment you stop working, that steady cash flow tends to dry up.

As a lawyer, I realized I was the asset—great for the courtroom, but not exactly something I could sell for a premium later in life (imagine the ad: “Seasoned litigator for sale!” Not quite the vibe, right? Therefore, creating a business—a company—felt like the perfect idea. It wasn’t just about the financial aspect but about building something bigger than myself, something with lasting value.

The Indian startup ecosystem is thriving, but perfection is still a work in progress. What is one change you would suggest in the immediate future?

The Indian startup ecosystem is like a rocket taking off—full of potential, but with a few wobbles along the way. As a woman entrepreneur, one change I’d love to see is making the startup space less of an exclusive club and more of a vibrant, inclusive community.

Let’s be real—networking events can sometimes feel like a men’s cricket match, and you’re there cheering from the stands. It’s time we flip that narrative! I’d love to see more platforms where women founders can connect, collaborate, and conquer.

Also, as entrepreneurs, we’re all about creating jobs and driving change. To all the women out there: start by creating jobs at home! Hire people to help you with household tasks so you can focus on growing your business without burning yourself out. Building your empire doesn’t mean you have to do it all alone—delegate where you can and shine where you must.
