India's World Cup Heroines Win Medals, Money & National Pride

Kranti Goud received a Rs 1 crore reward and a grand state felicitation from the Madhya Pradesh Government for her role in India’s World Cup triumph. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav hailed her as “the daughter of Chhatarpur,” honouring her along with her coach and parents at an emotional ceremony marked by applause, traditional drums, and a medal presentation at the CM’s residence. In a meaningful gesture beyond monetary recognition, the state assured support in reinstating her father’s long-pending police service suspension, acknowledging the sacrifices behind her journey. Additionally, Sports Minister Vishvas Kailash Sarang announced plans to build a cricket stadium in Chhatarpur to inspire future talent.

Punjab

The Punjab Government accorded a grand welcome to World Cup stars Harleen Deol and Amanjot Kaur at Mohali airport, celebrating India’s historic victory with dhol beats, flower garlands, and enthusiastic crowds. Led by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, officials lauded the duo for making Punjab and the nation proud and confirmed that Captain Harmanpreet Kaur will also be honoured soon. The state announced a Rs 1.5 crore reward for each of the three Punjab players, Harmanpreet Kaur, Amanjot Kaur, and Harleen Deol, for their contribution to the triumph. Additionally, the Punjab Cricket Association awarded Harmanpreet and Amanjot Rs 11 lakh each and honoured fielding coach Munish Bali with Rs 5 lakh for his support in the World Cup campaign.
