Top 10 Women Leader In PR Agency - 2021

Public Relations is generally a female dominated sector, where the entry level ratio of female to male hires is 3:1. More than half of the workers in the sector are women, constituting about 70 percent of the total work force. But before glorifying the industry for position and value it has given to women, let's look into some facts revealed by US Bureau of the Census, 2017. According to the report, there is a significant inequality in the salaries of both genders. Men make significantly more than women, illustrating that inequalities for women are still relevant today. In 2016, the average salary for men was $969 while it was $784 for women. The same disparity can be witnessed when it comes to leadership roles in the sector as well. Women hold only about 30 percent of the top positions in the PR industry.

However, the industry is undergoing positive changes. In 2015, none of the top five agencies had women in any of the top managing position. But today, two of the top five firms are led by women. The ability of women to make better bonds with clients than their male counter parts is considered as the reason for increasing number of women in the role. PR is a job which requires involvement, creativity and flexibility. It involves ideation, collaboration, networking and bringing all set of ideas together. There is a great opportunity awaiting women in PR and Marketing; with wonderful communication and talent, they could be the driving force and take leadership positions.
