Top 10 Women Architects In Asia - 2023
Women Architects: Laying Sound Foundation to change the Future of Architecture
Fueled by a dynamic entrepreneurial spirit, robust technological infrastructure, highly skilled human workforce and industry 4.0,every industry is skyrocketing today and Architecture is no different. Being a male-dominated industry traditionally, now it seems to welcome strong, powerful and agile women to be a part of it and excel through their career. While at the academic level, design and architecture programs attract female students, the profession cannot seem to retain it. In a study done by The NYT, women only make up 18 percent of licensed architects, and only three of the top 100 firms in the world are headed by women, feels like woman still has a long way to go. Hence, making it a high-time for women to jump into something new and work with latest innovation and tools.
In the 21st-century, women are equipped with a willingness to take up tasks that were considered the men’s business before and breaking gender stereotypes. Now they have equal rights and access to education and they are openly venturing in any field they want to operate on and leading a world that is driven by performance and results. Women are now self-sufficient, well aware and financially independent. They have attained immense success and emerged as transformational and visionary leaders in every field, be it information Technology, Business Management, Manufacturing, Education or Architecture, and leading happier, more productive and connected teams for their organizations. Finally the world is now witnessing women increasingly gaining power in the corporate world that had been previously denied to them, which definitely needs to be appreciated and acknowledged.
