Top 10 Indian Women Architects - 2022

In the recent years, the rising urbanization has significantly burgeoned the demand of infrastructure development in India. Owing to this scenario, there has been a positive progress in the requirement of skilled individuals as well who are adept in architectural works. Every building or infrastructure that we enjoy today is the prolific work of an architect who executes everything, right from conceiving the idea and blueprint for construction to converting it into a final product. Also, as the Indian architecture is rooted in its history, culture and religion, there is much add-on to it and it’s incessantly going to grow along time.

With the rapid evolution of available technologies and their integration into architecture has brought extensive future possibilities and prospectus for architects today and even women leaders are domineering this presumably men-led industry. With over 35 million people engaged in this sector, women occupy nearly 30 percent of the total workforce. Though almost 65 percent of the women are known to work as construction laborers in the Architecture workforce, there are many accomplishing women architects as well taking on the lead to prospective architecture projects on project sites and at the design and planning level. Though, there is scarcity of women in architecture around the world, the Indian scene presents a slightly astounding number as about 47.67 percent of licensed architects are women in the country, while another research shows that only 20 percent of these women become licensed practitioners. There are many Indian women in architecture field leading big and small enterprises in the Architecture sector, leveraging their dexterous skills and knowledge and paving way for acknowledgeable growth.
