What are some important facets of your life and professional journey?

During my 16-year corporate tenure, I experienced remarkable milestones that propelled my professional growth. Securing an internship at Mahindra & Mahindra through campus recruitment marked my initial breakthrough. Guided by insightful mentors, I specialized in Organizational Development (OD) and received sponsorship for 'Competency Mapping Certification’ with TV Rao Learning Systems (TVRLS). Remaining steadfast in my commitment to OD, I resisted the allure of higher positions, opting for a rewarding career path. Notably, my involvement in the integration of Sun Pharma exposed me to cultural integration complexities and collaborations with prestigious consultants. These highlights, coupled with my consulting and coaching endeavors, have shaped my successful professional journey.

Introduce us to Pallavi Tamboli People Advisory. Tell us about the underlying idea behind the venture.

Thoughts of opening my own consulting started in 2018 – I started thinking about it. I embarked on my consulting journey, initially taking up projects spanning 3 to 6 months. However, despite my absence on LinkedIn, websites, or even a comprehensive profile, I realized the need for a distinct identity. It was then that I realized the importance of branding. While contemplating various names for my venture, I recognized that in the realms of coaching, organizational development, and corporate training, it’s the trainer’s or coach’s name that resonates. Think of esteemed figures like Marshall Goldsmith or Richard Bandler—our familiarity lies with their names the most, This realization struck me profoundly. To ensure discoverability and connection, in 2019 I decided to highlight my name, establishing Pallavi Tamboli People Advisory. As a coach, I understand the significance of effective marketing. My reputation precedes me within the industry, built over 16 years of fruitful connections. People must recognize me by my name, as any change would pose a significant challenge.

“Coaching alone felt insufficient, as i yearned to truly understand individuals - their actions, body language, & motivations”

Throw some light on your expertise as a professional mental strength coach. Tell us about the various tools and strategies you leverage while working with your clients.

My approach to strategy is rooted in extensive study and hard work. Coaching alone felt insufficient, as I yearned to truly understand individuals — their actions, body language, and motivations. To enhance my capabilities, I delved into neuro-linguistic programming, unraveling the complexities of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The transactional analysis further equipped me with insights into ego states, injunctions, and triggers. These tools and strategies, be it NLP or TA, differ based on each client's unique needs. In organizational development, we employ various tools such as competency mapping and assessment development centers. Ultimately, our objective remains consistent-energizing impact. The coaching process is systematic, commencing with a chemistry check session where both the client and I assess compatibility and desired outcomes. It's vital to establish mutual understanding and ensure a strong rapport. Additionally, stakeholder meetings are crucial, as they provide valuable insights into the coaching's impact. We strive to close the loop, leaving no loose ends. While we respect the expertise of psychiatrists in matters of medication, we focus on our role as coaches and refer clients to appropriate professionals when necessary.

Tell us about the top three milestones you have achieved throughout your professional journey.

Three notable milestones have shaped my journey. Firstly, securing a position at Mahindra & Mahindra, an opportunity I never expected during financially challenging times. Joining the organization was a pivotal achievement as it provided stability and financial growth. Secondly, venturing into consulting and fulfilling my aspiration to help others through coaching. In a saturated market flooded with self-proclaimed experts, my focus remains on delivering genuine value. Building strong client relationships where they return for guidance and trust is immensely rewarding, and my satisfaction lies in making a difference and prioritizing client well-being over monetary gains. And thirdly finding balance as a mother and as a Woman Entrepreneur.
