Indian Corporate Training Industry Being Led By Trailblazing Women

Learning is a never ending pursuit and so is a human's capability to imbibe new skills and information. The ability to up skill oneself and stay in-line with the technology curve is a key requirement in today's hyper aggressive corporate world. Consequently, learning and development plays a critical role in today's business landscape.
Most companies encourage employees to periodically undergo training and learning programs in order to build on their existing skills while also picking up newer skill sets. Needless to say, L& D has emerged as a burgeoning industry globally and has been experiencing constant growth. Experts believe that the optimum potential of the Indian corporate training industry still remains untapped.
There exists a massive scope for growth and expansion of the Indian L& D industry in the days to come. Reports state that the market experienced double digit growth rate between 2013 and 2018.In the past few years India has witnessed growth momentum shifting from secondary sectors to the service industry. India's IT & ITES industry remains in constant need for trained and skilled IT professionals.
Similarly, other major industries such as banking, telecom, manufacturing, FMCG, automotive etc have also seen an increased need for trained and skilled workforce. In today's digital first world, employees are expected to be well versed in various technology systems. These factors combined have added to the impending growth of the Indian corporate training sector.
Well aligned with the digitization of the entire world, the world of b training methodologies has also become tech savvy. The industry has gradually adopted online training tools which especially came handy during the pandemic. With relatively low entry barriers and owing to it being a largely fragmented market, there has been an influx of new players in the Indian corporate training market.
Another observation worth mentioning is the high number of women corporate trainers and L& D coaches in India and globally. Unlike other functions, the field of L& D and corporate training has more women than men. A 2018 report by the Bureau of Labour estimated that around 58.5 percent of training managers in organizations are women.
Women by virtue are more empathetic, open to growth, have a higher EQ, are more persuasive & observant, all factors that have aided their growth in the industry.
