Srujana Bobba: Breaking New Grounds In Business, Technology & Education

Srujana Bobba
Co-Founder & CTO , Librari

Transform or Perish! This powerful phrase holds aptly true for every sector including education as well. Since the age of British reigns, we have been indulged in an education system where the Primary curriculum prepares you for the Secondary, the Secondary prepares you for Higher Studies, and finally, you a get a monotonous job, most of the time. But the last 2 years have accelerated a dramatic and sudden transformation in Indian education, making technology the backbone of learning. Not only has the system evolved but the students themselves have transformed along with the technology.

Breaking several norms, youngsters today are open to gigs, entrepreneurship, and skills-based learnings; having everything at their fingertips. Moreover, The Z and Alpha generations can no more tolerate lags, delays, and boring content on the internet. In the age of Tik-Tok and Reels, children prefer short-form content that is quick and easy to understand. With that said, the founders of Librari, Rengarajan M, SrujanaBobba and Pavan Kumarrealized that Short-form content is the new key to Edtech companies.

In the wake of the revolution in education, Librari emerged as a pioneer micro-learning video platform for K-12 Students, with 3-minute academic concept videos by academic experts. Speaking about the inception of Librari, Srujana Bobba, Co-founder &CTO says, “Librari is a disruptive idea that came to life to solve the real problem statement of reduced attention span in people, especially children. We wanted to make this short attention window more productive with learning. Apparently,  social media apps are so engrossing that we don’t even realize the amount of time we spend on them. So, we decided to bring in a social media kind-off experience in an educational application; giving them a chance to learn concepts in a few minutes.”

What started off to be a TikTok for Education is now zeroed down to be a smart revision app with short videos, games, and quizzes to reduce the anxiety levels of students and parents during exam preps. With the idea of offering a seamless, distraction-free, quick learning experience, Librari covers concept videos for Grade 1 to Grade 12 students. Brought to you by Alfabets Learning Pvt. Ltd., the Librari application also encourages its users to create and upload short interactive videos to share knowledge, passion, experience, creativity, and wisdom with the community. Curated by experts and users, Librari offers knowledge beyond academics such as extracurricular skills, hobbies, and more. “Presenting alearn and earn opportunity, we conduct gamified quizzes and contests where children can earn coins and redeem on LibrariBazaar to buy products on the app,” the company claims.

Passionate about building products to solve real-time customer needs”

To inspire several other women to grow in collaboration and outshine as stars in every walk of their life, we bring to you the journey of Srujana Bobba.

“Hailing from Hyderabad, India, I completed Engineering in CS. Subsequently, I pursued an online masters from the Georgia Institute of Technology. I was vividly exposed to both physical and online classes. My career began with Cognizant and I was privileged to work with several companies in various appellations from development to DevOps, QA engineering, leadership, executive role, and more. I have been very enthusiastic about business since my college days. Proudly, my first product-based start-up (launched during my college days) failed and I must say it was a beautiful experience.

After which, I forayed into the service-based industry and founded a couple of companies including Iksana Inc in the USA. The service sector helped me understand how to step into the clients’ shoes and understand their needs, talk to them and explain complex tech issues in layman terms, and several other business-related aspects as well. The risk of leaving a job with a handsome salary and starting a business seemed silly to many, but we are definitely relishing the fruits today,” says Srujana Bobba, Co-founder & CTO.

Sharing about the initial challenges she faced as a startup founder, she says, “Every day is a new day in a startup, we have to be ready to match the dynamics of the environment. Even with so much vibrancy in a startup ecosystem, good talents are skeptical about joining growing companies. Although we cannot attract talents with stocks and great perks like giant brands, what I believe is being a good leader is a key to onboard good talent. If you are someone people look up to, they will think twice to leave the company. Irrespective of the department, my focus is to have people who will grow with us manifold.”

Srujana Bobba, Co-founder & CTO

Srujana believes in giving 100% in everything she takes up. She is so keen to only make her work perfect but also push others to do better, under her stewardship.
