Starting right from when she hits puberty, these changes continue up until she reaches menopause. Over the years, a woman's body has to deal with puberty, menarche, breast development, pregnancy to menopause. And in each of these steps, women have to rely on health professionals, specifically a Gynaecologist. From early age, when a woman's reproductive organs mature, individuals are advised to have an annual or at least three yearly health check-up with a gynaecologists. However, in reality how feasible or accessible in reproductive healthcare for women across India? Not very.A mix of systemic, societal and internal factors keep women devoid of the medical advice that they require on various junctures of life. There still exists a stigma when it comes to addressing one's reproductive or sexual health needs. This is where supportive, knowledgeable and well-meaning healthcare professionals can make a huge difference. Take for instance the work being done by Dr. MeeraRagavan, who is an Obstetrician, Gynaecologist, and Robotic surgeon with her area of expertise being urogynaecology. She specializes in urinary and bladder problems in women and intends to create a greater level of awareness about bladder health problems, urinary tract infections, and urinary incontinence. Similarly, Dr. Anita Singh from Greater Noida has been applauded and recognized for the extensive range of medical operations and services that she offers in her area. She has been helping women with all kinds of health and wellness issues for the last 12 years. Dr. ShwetaMendiratta is another renowned and senior Obstetric and Gynaecologist striving to change the perception about women's reproductive health by encouraging women to prioritize their health and wellness by scheduling frequent doctor's appointments. Armed with 15 years of experience she is adept at managing high-risk pregnancies and laparoscopic surgeries. She conducts hysterectomy procedures, treats PCOD and other prevalent female gynaecological disorders.From the West Coast we have Dr. Pooja Bansal, an experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who practices out of Navi Mumbai and is currently practicing at Bansal Specialty Clinic.
