With digitization redefining the way businesses function, corporate requirements have evolved too. The industry has addressed this evolution by creating new-age roles and designations that can support the various new-founds needs of a modern business. One such role is that of Chief Business Officer. A multi-faceted role, a CBO one of the top operating executives within a business how is tasked with strengthening commercial companies. Essentially a CBO leads all deal making activities within an organization and upholds the ultimate transactional responsibility.Any organization has several corporate and business development activities ongoing at any given time. It is the CBO who is responsible for leading such endeavors. He/she must also uphold relationship and project management of all partnership agreements. If HR leaders and VCs are to be believed the CBO is one of the most sought after roles in today's times. Reports suggest that more and more startups are now looking to onboard CBOs as compared to chief operating officers and chief marketing officers. Studies predict that there has been a 40-50 percent increase in hiring for CBOs across new age companies.
